I am a multi-media artist who works in textiles, painting, video, installations, and puppetry. My work explores human spirituality. I believe that the spiritual and earthly experiences are deeply connected, and my art reflects that idea.
My work has been exhibited at galleries around the world since the mid-1980s. My art is often inspired by subconscious and preconscious thoughts, which results in new harmonies between different mediums.
My art work interprets images of the elements, land, animal, and human presence in the context of Afrocentric value systems. Spirituality becomes central to the imagery.
I continue to bring about the synchronization of my art and spirituality and have a belief that “true power originates from internal spiritual enlightenment and that we must use this power to reach our higher selves: creating harmony”.
